The first time you watch the opening cinematic of Tales of Vesperia, you're like, "Man, this is the most generic thing I've ever seen." Then you start playing the game and you get to know the characters better and you get into some battles and that's when it happens-you start to understand the totally sappy bonds that all the characters keep going on about. It's all about love and friendship, teamwork, and exploring a world you've only scratched the surface of. Pretty soon you're humming the theme song and watching the opening cinematic over and over again. I just wish the actual game itself had left me feeling as warm and fuzzy as the intro.

THE BOTTOM LINE: This interesting installment in the Tales series is probably best suited to hardcore RPG nuts and fans who loved the previous titles.

Okay, so stop me if you've heard this one before: the young and arrogant Prince of the Netherworld is on a quest to make a name for himself and claim the title of Overlord from his father by any means necessary. Sound familiar?

PS3: Metal Gear Solid 4Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3)
Grade: TBD

The Wii and PS3 lured me back into the home game systems last year. After many years being out of the loop, I hadn't even heard of the MGS series until the hype started building for MGS4. In a nutshell, having only scratched the surface of the game, this is truly a cutting-edge masterpiece. This isn't a simple "game," it's quite an experience and it completely justifies my decision to go the PS3 route for entry into the Blu-ray platform.

Stay tuned.

The Original Adventures (PS3)

9/10

Absolutely hilarious. As a huge Indy fan, this one is a delight to play.
While the main adventure is fairly short, there's loads of replay value in finding all the free play treasures and seeing what happens back at Barnett College.
Wii: Boom BloxBoom Blox (Wii)
Grade: TBD

Got it at Target with their $10 gift
card deal. Since it's got Spielberg's
name on it, I "had to" grab a copy.

But ... umm... I haven't even opened it yet!

Stay tuned.

PS3: Assassin's CreedAssassin's Creed (PS3)
Grade: TBD

I've made it through the tutorial and the game holds a lot of potential.
I'm looking forward to exploring it further when I have the time.

Stay tuned.
