Starcrawler
The Black Sheep
Colorado Springs, Colorado
8 October 2026

Starcrawler perform If You’re Gonna Dumb, You Gotta Be Tough. Shot with the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

My introduction to Starcrawler was when they opened for Garbage at the Mission Ballroom in Denver, Colorado, on 12 October 2025.

From the moment frontwoman Arrow de Wilde swirled her way onto the stage I was hooked. Big time.

They’re punk. And so much more.

Seeing them as the headliner at the Black Sheep in Colorado Springs (almost one year to the day after the Garbage gig) reinforced what a force they are. (They also opened for the Sex Pistols the following night in Denver.)

This is a truly great band and I love ’em. They know how to put on a show. Multi-talented. Versatile. If you need to ease into their library, check out their acoustic stuff on your favorite streamer to get an appreciation for how unique this band is.

Acoustic? Punk? Yep. The best rock can be stripped back to the basics of the acoustic performance. And it takes a band with real smarts to appreciate that approach. (Hint: It’s U2’s strategy in songwriting. Start accoustic. Amp it up.)

The above video is If You’re Gonna Dumb, You Gotta Be Tough, which is such an eye-opening revelation of what this band is capable of. I love this song. (And it was featured in the movie Jackass 4.5.)

And. Yeah. I was more than thrilled to be a shoulder for Arrow to lean on as she exited the stage at the end of the show. What a superb performer!

Starcrawler, based in Los Angeles, are:

  • Arrow de Wilde - lead vocals
  • Henri Cash - guitar
  • Bill Cash - pedal steel, guitar
  • Tim Franco - bass
  • Seth Carolina - drums

This band deserves a big – huge – audience! Check ’em out at StarcrawlerMusic.com.

Drum batter head signed by Starcrawler
This signed drum batter head with hand-drawn art is easily the most unique item in the Mattsonian. And it’s a personal favorite.
