Ignorance is alive and well in America.
After almost getting mowed down by an anxious driver behind me while going through a 25 MPH school zone, I made it to the stoplight leading to I-25 on my way to work this morning. While sitting at the light, the woman in the car in front of me rolled down her window and threw out a styrofoam cup. The remaining coffee splashed against the curb, mixing in with the rain.
I honked in disgust. She was oblivious.
Why? She was too busy yapping on her cell phone.
As I passed by this arrogant, ignorant individual on the highway, it was clear she spent more money on her hairdo than on her early model Impala POS. I'm sure the catalog would describe the color as Monotonous Gray. I'd love to publish her license plate so all could flip her the bird when they see her, but I'm sure she's also the litigious type.
Happy Earth Day.

The goal is sole!
Finally got some new Doc Martens. The old pair had become so worn down the sole cracked. Walking around with a cracked sole isn't good for the karma. No wonder I was starting to feel out of whack.

I have to share a few thoughts about my parents.
The day after Christmas in 2005, my dad nearly died. He had flat-lined in the hospital and they sent the chaplain over to visit with me and my mom. It was a terrible time.
But my dad, miraculously, pulled through. And the first words out his mouth, after regaining consciousness, were about wanting to get out of the hospital right away because he didn't want to be saddled with another deductible payment.
That was my dad. A great guy with a concern for the bottom line.
He died 11 days later.
As for my mom, she tripped yesterday at the assisted living house and slit open her nose. I took her to get stitches.
Like my dad, she's a tough cookie. She wouldn't complain, but if you asked her if her nose hurt, she'd say, "Yes."
Well, she got the stitches put in and barely complained about the discomfort of the procedure. Even the doctore was impressed.
Here's the kicker.
When all was said and done, she said she enjoyed it.
That's Mom.
And I'm their son.
No wonder.

Finally got around to watching the St. Patrick's Day edition of Ghost Hunters. They went to Paddy Reilly's. Last time I was there, a few years ago, they had broken from tradition and no longer served ONLY Guinness on tap. They had removed a Guinness tap or two and replaced them with piss water.
Well... Bud.
Same difference.
In the show, they were back to ONLY Guinness taps.
So. When was this show made? I'll be back in NYC and will have to check it out.
In either case, I think the folks at Paddy Reilly's had them go there for some free publicity.
Stay tuned.
