Spotted this on Yahoo! (AFP):

"Humphreys believes a date could therefore be ascribed to Easter in our modern solar calendar, and working on the basis that the crucifixion took place on April 3, Easter Day would be on April 5."

My birthday's April 4, albeit some 2,000 years later.

Feel free to extrapolate or what-not.

The Oscars were fairly entertaining.

I was particularly thrilled to see Wally Pfister win for his cinematography on Inception. He's a really, really nice guy and I had the distinct pleasure of conducting a one-on-one interview with him back in 2008.

It was also great to see Christian Bale win for his outstanding performance in The Fighter, as well as another personal favorite, Natalie Portman, get some recognition for Black Swan.

Amid the controversy of Waiting for "Superman"'s exclusion from the Best Documentary nominees, I found it curious students from PS 22 sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow at the end of the show. I remember the big deal made out of Anne Hathaway visiting the school to make the announcement, but putting that together with numerous references to union membership during various speeches made me think it was a shot across the bow against the damning statement the doc made about our school system and its unions.

Totally surprised by the lack of positive coverage The Black Eyed Peas got for their phenomenal half-time show. Christina Aguilera stole their thunder by botching the national anthem. But come on now, she has an incredible voice. I can forgive her.

The Peas. Instead of a generic general admission crowd on the field, the Peas had full-blown choreography on a large scale. I have to say that was mighty ingenious. The moving platforms were fantastic. And the set list covered their canon along with a salute to harder-edged rock 'n' roll by way of Slash and tamer dance stuff by way of Usher.

I have to add this note in the interest of full disclosure: I saw the Peas open for... Justina. Yes. Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake waaay back in 2003.

Unlike last year's abysmal, dull, by-the-numbers performance by The Who, the Peas came to the game with ideas and a desire to do something different.

Even so, I've gotta stick to my guns.

U2 still own the best half-time show. It was a performance of healing and honor in the first post-9/11 Super Bowl.
