Is it just me, or are the NFL play-by-play commentators incredibly vapid and overly politically correct these days? In particular, I'm referring to the guys at ESPN and ABC, both cradled under the Disney wing. According to them, every last player is a hero on and off the field and each one is an incredibly nice guy to simply hang out with.
For some reason, I doubt that. Joe Namath making moves on "my girl" Suzy Kolber in front of a national audience only proves my point. Leave my girl alone, Joe!
Maybe ABC was on to something when they tried rocking the boat a bit with Miller and Limbaugh. While Miller's a good guy, Limbaugh doesn't do much for me. But at least they both had something different to say.
The constant spouting of compliments makes me want to puke. Where's the analysis? Where's the substance?

Houston... We have a problem.
Wow! The Nuggets pulled off an incredible come-from-behind 95-94 victory over the Houston Rockets last night at The Can in front of a record crowd of 19,685.
The Nugs trailed 10-0 at the start, were down by as many as 16 points and finally got a 1 point lead after a three-point foul in the last nine seconds of the game.
While I didn't make it to very many sporting events this year, last night's win kept my undefeated streak alive for the entire year! Thank you Yankees, Rockies, and Nuggies for winning one (or two or three) for the Mattman!

"I remember when I was a little kid, I used to dream of flying a lot. I guess most kids do. You grow up, and all kinds of hardship gets thrown on your shoulders, you don't dream of flying anymore." -Johnny Depp in Rolling Stone #938/939

Catherine Zeta-Jones has come a long way. I saw the Welsh hottie at the premiere of Jurassic Park in London and now she has the honor of being the wallpaper on my new T-Mobile phone.
Lucky girl!

I'm not one to pick a fight with Mr. Steinbrenner, but letting Pettitte go was pretty boneheaded.
Then there's Sir Mick. What the heck's up with that? Rock 'n' roll is anti-establishment, Man, and yet here you are lettin' Prince Charles knight you? Don't start me up, Mick!
Scary to think that I'd ever agree with Keith Richards, but, Dude, get back to where you once belonged!
Oh, wait... wrong band.

About life: "Nobody has a perfect life. There's no such thing. It's about this journey that we're on." - Halle Berry
About the next tour: "A year from now, U2 will be on the road in the middle of a tour supporting their new album -- the other project, in addition to saving Africa, that has occupied Bono's time this past year.
"'I'd like to be on tour when the election's going on. It's a hell of a loud hailer to have, and, although we'll try not to get involved,' he said, grinning, 'in case anything should happen along the way, you know, on our issues, we'll be there.'" - From Cathleen Falsani's interview with Bono in Chicago Red Streak
